Under sunlight and clear skies I met up with my family in Lexington, KY to continue traveling with them up to Illinois. It was so good to spend this extra time traveling with them. Me and Mom talked, Amy knitted Gracie's blanket and we made Dad laugh so hard that he almost wrecked us.
Not really....but seriously.

Before we knew it, we had arrived.
We finally got to see Daniel, Beth, Gracie AND Beth's baby bump!
Beth's husband, Daniel, has very understanding family who let us all stay at their homes for the weekend. And if you know my family, that is no small undertaking ;)
We all had beds, comfy couches, and unlimited amounts lots of coffee and Gracie time.
We were content.

Right now, Beth and Daniel live in a two bedroom home in town. It's adorable and so 'them', if you know what I mean. You'll be seeing more of it on here later.
They're also in the process of remodeling a new house that will become their new home in the near future, Lord willing.

We stopped there to see all their hard work and let me tell you, it is going to be gorgeous. Like, magazine-Pinterest-perfect-HGTV-makeover-Martha Stewart gorgeous. Maybe they'll let me do a whole photo shoot of it once they finish ;)
We looked and listened while Beth shared her design dreams with us and then walked around the wind-blown pond and played with Gracie.

So much love and happiness was shared in those few days. I loved it all. The only thing missing was Paul, Deb and Nathan. Hopefully we'll all be together again soon.
And there's much more to see from our trip, but for now I'll just leave you with these images. I had way too much fun being a photographer this weekend, and the result is that I have ALOT of material to go through. Ha!
Oh, and I in no way apologize for the shocking amount of times Gracie appears in these pictures ;)
I Love it allllll!!!! Please hurry with the rest of the pictures :)
ReplyDeleteI trying! Soon :)
DeleteOh Brea! You scooped it all up with your camera and your words, and preserved it forever! Love it, love you, and love the pic of Mel with the Tinkerbell wings on and Chris chasing her! As usual, I'm way impressed.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. You're so encouraging to me :) I love you too.
DeleteThis is amy:) I finally read your blog!!!! IM SO GLAD I DID!!! You are an amazing writer breanne! I am SO proud to be your sister (even though sometimes I don't act like it) I hope to start a blog soon and I hope you can help me:) love, the amazing knitter in the photo.
ReplyDeleteYay! You finally came to my blog! Welcome :) I appreciate you being my sister too. And would love to help you start a blog, you amazing knitter, you!
DeleteThis is precious! I cannot believe that Gracie is SO big already...and seriously so cute! Love the Tianna dress/wings on her! :D Okay, girl, you need to let me in on your secrets - how in the world do you get such great exposure on your shots? Either everywhere you go manages to have AMAZING windows with great lighting or you're just too darn amazing at your photos! When I try and get that "crystal clear, softy milky" lighting....I just blow out the photo. Do you get that in the editing?? Come now, spill. :)
ReplyDeleteI have no secrets! Believe it or not the houses we stayed at in IL had great natural lighting. It was a photographers dream! I've also learned a lot from Jonathan about good exposure. Honestly, right now my favorite lens for that is the 50mm. It allows me to go way low with my Aperture numbers (is that the right terminology?) and still keep a high clear shutter speed. And I (obviously) work with LR quite a bit to get things looking up to my standards. I don't know what else to tell you. Usually if I have a question I look it up on Google and get tips from other peoples blogs.lol But seriously, that 50mm is my bestest friend :)
DeleteThe 50mm is all that I have right now...which I do love, although I do find it awkward and frustrating all the time having to stand like ten or more feet away from anything I want to take a picture of! Selfies are definitely an out with that little devil! :) Okay, I'll just keep trying to be amazing with my photos...although something I've come to realize is that I just like to take pictures of life around me, my day to day happenings...and that although I LOVE me a good, wow-inducing photo, if capturing my life means not getting wow-photos that are hangable masterpieces...I really don't care! I'm happy with a decent picture that captures the moment. So, maybe that doesn't make me a "real" photographer, haha...but it's what I do and what I love most. Of course...if I could take amazing pictures of my life happening around me...then that's would be pretty much amazing! You're photos always encourage me to keep snapping away! :)
