There's a blue sky right outside my window.
That canopy of blue with the sunshine streaming down.
It's welcome relief from the wet and grey.
But the wind hasn't let go of winter yet, and it's blowing all about with cold intent.
It howls through the chimney like it wants me to doubt that the promise of Spring will be fulfilled.
Maybe the wind didn't' see what I saw today.

This season, more than I ever, I'm amazed at the boldness of Spring.
It's frail and quiet and gone mostly unnoticed.
The snow has tried to smother it and the cold has about snuffed it out.
But there in the branches and hidden amongst the dry grass, it's boldly saying,
"Here I am."
Reaching up like hands clasped in hope, it's there.
Do you see it?
And today, even with all the doubt and worries, I want to renounce fear and claim my place in Christ. To know who I am despite the doubt. To know that no matter what happens, My Father loves me.
And the truth I need is right here:
"And they shall be called, The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord;
and you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken."
Isaiah 62:12
ps. in case you've ever wondered, that verse is the theme of this blog.
I'll most likely be doing a whole post to go more in depth on this later on.
And of course, that's where the inspiration for the new watermark came from too ;)

I love your perspective in nature photos! I'm doomed to only ever be a portrait photographer, I just don't "see" nature angles like you or my mom does! :)
ReplyDeleteOh whatever! What about your almond orchard pictures! SO GOOD.
