Simple Joys: Board Games and Books

Playing Lord of the Rings Monopoly (yes, I know by admitting I own this increases my nerd level to absurd heights.) with my husband. I really enjoyed just hanging out together while playing this, even though I lost :)

This gorgeous rainbow we spotted at our house after a rain shower.

This photo is a two-in-one because: 1. the lovely center piece I've been enjoying on our dining-room table. (with anniversary flowers from Jonathan). And....
2. the sample of paint we tried out on our walls today. So far we like it. Yes, it's very bold, but I think with the overall color palette we're choosing for our home, it's gonna work!

Our Sadie is continuing to grow! And even though some of the time she likes to pretend she's a cross between an antelope, a baby elephant, and a kangaroo, we still love her ;)

And finally this set of LOTR books that were a surprise gift from my parents last time we we're in TN. I had been looking everywhere for these exact ones (which in my opinion are the best) and then, lo and behold, Mom and Dad got them for me :)
And now that's it's getting closer to fall time I'm anxious to read them all over again....adventures here I come!

Have a beautiful day and let Jesus slow you down so you can see all the His simple joys. They're everywhere!

  1. Never be ashamed of your LOTR nerdness. I myself use to wear the t-shirt (even tho it was an extra-large and I was an extra-small. It was the only size left and I NEEDED to have it!), and I also printed off LOTR quotes and hung them on my wall. There are alot worse things we could be fanatical about. Mine might not be LOTR anymore...but have you seen me and classic Disney lately???? :)

  2. By the way...thank you for changing your comment setting so that we don't have to do that "human verification" capcha anymore. I want to scream every time someone makes you fill that silly thing out every time someone tries to comment...:)

You leaving your thoughts on these posts really makes my day. Thank you! I might not be able to reply to every single one but please know that every comment is treasured and appreciated.
