For Mom :)

I was very brave yesterday. I attempted something that I had been nervous to do for awhile yesterday.I made bread, from scratch, homemade whole wheat bread. I was actually quite proud of myself.
Maybe this doesn't impress you much, I understand. But for me personally, well....let me just tell you, I felt like I needed to have at least six children and to have been homeschooling them for twelve years before I even attempted this.
But since we are childless at the moment, (does a very large puppy count for anything?) and I've never home schooled anyone, I had to try it regardless of inadequate I felt. And to my surprise they turned out! Not as good as my Momma's, but still very much in the edible category. Yay!
And speaking of my Mom, I'll just go ahead and dedicate this second batch to her. I say the second because the first batch actually ended up a sad, goopy mess in a grocery bag (gluten is too important of an ingredient to accidentally forget apparently). And it will not be pictured for the sake of my dignity and weaker members of the audience.

Anyway, here's how it turned out:

Thanks goes to my sweet husband for breaking down the recipe so I could make just two loaves at a time for us :)
And thanks to my Mom for the amazing recipe. Eating this stuff for breakfast was just a part of life. And some of my favorite childhood memories was getting to 'help' her make it.
Thanks Mom for making sure we had healthy bread to eat growing up!
