Dear Me,

The world is changing, shifting fast. And you can't believe that it's this time of year again. But it's alright because this is your favorite season, after all.  You need to enjoy it while it's here because, sadly, it's sometimes the shortest. This is needed for you, to slow down this passing life of yours by waking up to every moment.

 Here are some suggestions....

Take time to see:
the fog leaving droplets clinging behind as the day goes on
curled up treasures  on your porch.
the last remainings of amber sunlight before the cool evening

 Make good things, like:
cups of rich coffee
crumble-topped, sweet-soft muffins
memories of snuggling close together

  Do things like:
go on long walks without minding the fickle weather so much
focus more on spending time with your loved one
enjoy the tiniest of details otherwise missed

And maybe you'll find that this is how God intended for you to be. That He created you to live truly seeing, touching, delighting in all this. What a priceless, passing gift He's given you. Don't let it all sink below the horizon without first letting it warm your cheek and brighten your eyes as it slips out of sight.

Sincerely,
Your ever-needing-to-learn Self

  1. Oh wow.

I think this was a letter to me, too, my friend. I've had "fall" on the mind this morning, thinking of how to fully soak it in and enjoy it.

Actually, it was rather convicting, too. And I needed that as well.

Do you think...would you mind...ever so much...if I copied this idea and used it on my blog? I'd give you idea-credit. :)
