I had my own expectations about how we would celebrate February the 14th.
We made some special plans to celebrate together.
I intended to decorate the house for Valentine's Day.
And well....none of it happened.

That's just what happens travel plans get rearranged, when the restaurant is way.too.crowded. and
your husband gets shingles. Life often deviates from my original plan and, you know what?
It's ok.

Even though it all didn't turn out exactly like I thought it was supposed to, it was still a lovely day.
We drank coffee in one of the most beautiful museum auditoriums I've ever seen.
We ran around said museum like children exploring something for the first time.
We held hands
and
kissed
and
talked
and
and
sat quiet.
And then, to end the day
snuggled up with Sadie to watch a movie.

ps. Dear Jonathan,
I'm sorry that I kinda cried
(like a lot)when our day wasn't going
as I planned. And I'm sorry
for comparing our life to
everyone else's and allowing
that to make me discontent.
You've got to be the most patient
husband ever. And when you hugged
me and told me that even though
I didn't have anything to give
you for Valentine's, that you
were happy with just me? Yea, you're
pretty much the best ever.
So beyond glad that it's
you I ended up with.
I love you. Really I do.

melt me. put your words into a book, please. i’ll read them to my children like fairytales of the rarest of loves. then one day, i’ll tell them you’re my friend.
