It's the little details, the memories and emotions that we remind each other of that still makes me all excited. It's like living it the first time all over again.
'When you would talk to me, I got all nervous....'
'That day at camp was when I knew I really liked you...'
'I loved when you sat next to me.....'
We laugh when we remember how silly and childish we acted back then, back when everyone else knew we liked one another but were too scared to admit it to ourselves.
'What we're you thinking the first time we held hands?'
'How nervous were you the day you proposed to me?'
'Why did you sit next to me on that day?'
We ask the familiar questions over and over again because we like hearing the answers.
For us, it helps keep the love between us fresh and exciting. We like to remind ourselves of the circumstances that God ordained for us to end up together. We like to tell our love story, to each other.
So from one still-very-much-in-the-learning-process wife, here's some advice:
Tell your love story.
Tell your love, your story. And Never stop telling it.
Tell your love story.
Tell your love, your story. And Never stop telling it.
As my husband put it, "Mention the things that will make her blush all over again."
After all, who knows the details of your love story better than the two of you?
And to bring in what I wrote about in my previous post: Tell your God love story to yourself, to whoever will listen, and most importantly, let God tell it to you. Because no matter who you are, or what you've been through....you are loved.
"the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you."
Jeremiah 31:3
