We're Back!

Hey, remember us? The Rodgers? Yea...I know it's been awhile. But here we are again.
Yes, it's good to see you too.

We just got home yesterday from our week-long-family-visit-we-get-to-shoot-a-wedding-together-again adventure yesterday. We're worn out to say the least and I haven't even attempted to start unpacking yet. Today has been mostly about looking through the thousands (yes, thousands) of wedding pictures and get them ready for editing. Oh and about sleeping in...that too.

All that to say, here are some pictures from the time we got to spend with my family at my parents house. I love being there so much, there are many many reasons for that.
Here are a few that come to mind....

Being home means me and Mom getting up before everyone else does. It's walking the dogs or making coffee and trying to figure out what to make for breakfast.

It's the plaid-pajama clad legs and sleepy eyes and messy buns around the kitchen table.

It's the little feminine touches throughout the house. They speak so clearly of my mother.

It's catching a glimpse of Mom holding Chrisit's hand, of Amy reading.

Being home means a consistent flow of coffee and activity. It means crammed-full car rides and lots of pictures of it all.

It's laughing, all cheesy, until you get a good picture. Or at a least a goofy picture.

It's watching my husband and sisters interact as if they've known each other all along.

It's forcing my mom to take a picture with me and knowing that (deep-down) she'll love the fact that I did.

And it's trying to think of the right words speak to a sister going through scary-growing-up transitions and the hug that sometimes speaks louder than anything.

It's standing in the driveway and taking way.too.long to say good-bye.

I've come to the knowledge that I have many homes in different places. One with my beloved, one with my family, one with his family, several with friends who live far away. They all hold my heart in unique ways and all welcome me back every time. I live traveling between them and I couldn't be a more happy wanderer.

    1. Wow...I was a little bit self-concious about uploading these pictures because I thought I was having a less than stellar hair day. Guess no one else noticed, ha! Thanks Alyssa!
