Distance Veterans

Around here, we're well acquainted with the term 'long-distance relationship'. It's something we've accepted as part of our life and my families life. Although it definitely has it's issues and difficulties, there are some good things about having long-distance relationships.

Such has a happy reunion in an airport
Have you ever experienced one of those? They're the just best, aren't they?

While we were in Tennessee we got to share the joy of picking up Gracie and Beth from the airport with my family. And as we kept an eye out for their plane to come in, there were plenty of photo opportunities.
Enjoy!

My family are becoming experts at photo-bombing. We've made it into an art form.

Oh! We see them!

There they are! But then, Gracie got a little overwhelmed by our welcoming committee and....

....she just turned around and ran the other way. Beth was able to catch her quickly, thank goodness. So hilariously cute!

But, never fear. She warmed right up to us :)

To every one who knows how it feels to leave love one's behind. Or to be the one standing brave and waving good-bye. We know the sting of daily separation. And we know the special joy of time together, however brief it may be. But,most of all, we know that physical space between us is no match for the tried and tested love of a long-distance relationship.

It really is a beautiful thing. Wouldn't you agree?

  1. Yes, I would agree. It's funny how this long distance thing just keeps attaching itself to us. Im so glad we are all commited to making the effort whenever it's possible, for special events, or just bc it's time already. This is great as usual, and I love the whole caboodle of new blog. Look, title, everything. Evolving much?

    1. It makes such a difference when the people who are separated commit to staying connected in any way possible. I love that our family understands that. And thank you! It means a lot for you to say that about the blog. Yes, evololving and continuing to do so :)

  2. Love this post, Brea! Everything about it - the photos (love the overexposed shots, trying to incorporate that more into my photos myself), the heart, the message...so good! :D
