Christi's Senior Pictures

"You need not be sorry for her. She was one of the kind that likes to grow up. In the end she grew up of her own free will a day quicker than the other girls."
-J.M Barrie, Peter Pan

I remember her as the little sister with the afro of white curls, a mischievous gleam in her eye and a talent flair for the dramatic. Not a whole lot has changed ;)
Except now, I see so much strength, diligence and passion in this young woman that I'm proud to call my sister.
When did she become so grown up, beautiful and stunning?
God has big things planned for you Christi, I just know it.
May you let Him use you for His glory.

For Tonight

What's on the agenda this evening?
Conquering our small mountain of laundry and working on a little project for our early Thanksgiving at my parent's house next week.
Oh, and watching Disney Channel.
Hey, I know how old I am. But I'm a night shift wife....and watching Princess Protection Plan to help pass time is perfectly acceptable :)

Puppy Playdate

Thanks to Stefani for letting me take all these pictures of her and adorable son. And to Mom for letting us use Ellie the pup.
I mean, everything is just better with puppies and babies right?

Isaiah 50:10

Last night wasn't exactly what you'd call a 'good' night at our house. Jonathan came home worn out from work to his emotional wreck of a wife. And then I pretty much emotionally threw up on the poor man.
I was giving in to fears and lies and not fighting it at all. Everything seemed so dark to me. It was quite the mess.
Long story short: I realized that I was being ridiculous, and God showed me some things. Mainly, that I was not trusting and relying on Him. I was desperately wanting to fix everything my way.
And when things are like that, it can get dark pretty quick.
Thank God for His forgiveness and restoration, amen?
Because I woke up this morning to hope and a sunrise.
The weather has been very cold and dark the past two days and seeing that the sun had finally come out refreshed my soul. And that blue sky! Such a reminder that God can use even the cold, naked trees to make something beautiful.
I sipped my coffee and read the Word and in Isaiah God told me exactly what to do the next time I feel like I'm walking in the dark.
See it there in verse 10?
Trust and rely.
Even in the dark. 'Cause if you do, you'll have hope. Simple as that.
God can make those raindrops into rows of diamonds hidden there in unexpected places. And the stripped bare branches can really be hands lifted in praise to their Maker.
He won't forget you. Ever.

Thank You Jesus that it's not all about me. And that You can take even my sin and stumbling to teach me and bring You glory. But don't let me use that as way to excuse my failings. Help me to live in victory and sin no more.
Thank You for grace unending.
You are always there, even when to my feeble mind it doesn't seem that way. And You never fail.
