Sadie

This might be a little late but I just wanted to introduce our latest addition Sadie. She is our nine week old Great Dane (I call her a Least Dane right now 'cause she ain't done growin yet! ;)

The day we picked her up from the breeder in Ohio.

She loves being outside as long as it's not cold :)

Sitting on my lap in the car. She won't be able to do that for long ;)

From trips to Lowe's to going to see my family down in Tennessee, she pretty much goes where ever we go. She loves the car, no getting sick or excessive whining. She just sleeps in her crate or sits on my lap.
And yes, we still have our two cats. They tolerate her pretty well. She seems to think they're chew toys or bowling pins but we are trying to teach her to be gentle.

She is growing so fast! You can really tell in these pictures:

Sadie at 7 weeks old.

At 8 weeks.

And here she is currently at nine weeks. She's going to be a big girl!
We love her! The only time I don't really enjoy her is when she wakes up at three o'clock in the morning crying to go outside. But other than that she has been pretty low maintenance. Jonathan is so good with her and loves her to death. It's so cute :) For now, we're trying to do all the things good puppy parents do: housebreaking, obedience training and socializing her as much as we can.
So far I've loved the puppy process. We'll see how I am when and if we have a baby (No, I'm NOT pregnant.) I know getting a puppy isn't at all as life-changing as having a child, but they're are similarities. We have to get up in the night with her, train her, make sure she doesn't swallow anything dangerous and try not worry too much if we have to leave her when we go out. I find it funny that my mom and sister both recently got puppies as well. You should hear us talk to each other about them, we all sound like new moms.
I'm thinking my next post will be about our recent trip to Tennessee. It was so good! And Sadie enjoyed meeting her cousins. I'll tell you all about it next time, but for now I hope you don't mind a little post dedicated to Sadie :)

We love our little Miss Sadie Pants!
